About Destination British Columbia

Destination British Columbia (DBC) aspires to share the transformative power of BC experiences with the world. DBC is looking to connect with local creators to produce compelling vertical and short-form video content that showcases the authentic and relatable travel experiences, moments, and stories of BC through the lens of the province’s diverse population. DBC values the different experiences of each person in BC and welcomes all creators, regardless of background and identity, to bring their unique perspective and lived experience to the stories and content they create.

How it Works

We’ve partnered with Destination BC to work with content creators like yourself. You’ll capture authentic content to show off the top spots the province has to offer and get paid for your work! To get started:

  1. Become a CrowdRiff Creator.
  2. We’ll be in touch via email to help you navigate downloading the app, getting paid for your work, and how to participate in Content Challenges
  3. You’ll be notified of new Content Challenges in your area on a regular basis, or explore all opportunities in our app.
  4. Create CrowdRiff Creator Stories through our app for each Content Challenge you’d like to participate in
  5. Get paid for your work and use it to fuel your next adventure!

Surreal Moments in BC

Have you ever found yourself in a moment so awe-inspiring it took your breath away? Maybe it was an otherworldly landscape, a forest trail out of a fairytale, or a spectacular sunset that made you stop in your tracks. We’re looking for your most surreal moments that showcase BC’s astonishing beauty.

The ask: Share your most epic and surreal BC moments with us! You can submit compelling clips from different experiences or scenes, or a series of clips from one unbelievable occasion. You can share new content, or scroll back through your camera roll for those breathtaking moments that made you feel like you were living in a dream! Check out this video as an example of the types of content we’re looking for.

Requirements

  • Stories submitted for this challenge should include high quality footage that showcases an awe-inspiring, epic or cinematic-like moment. Nature should be the star of the show!
  • Submitted content should be shot outside of winter months.
  • Each creator can submit one story for this challenge.
  • All stories must meet the base guidelines
  • Your story should be primarily video content, but please include one image as the title of your story to establish a sense of place.
  • Ensure the experience you showcase is accessible to travellers.
  • DBC strives to share as much of BC as possible, though some places need more help than others to protect what makes it so beautiful. We avoid sharing content of heavily-trafficked parks and natural areas, such as Joffre Lakes, Garibaldi Lake and Provincial Park, Mystic Beach and Botanical Beach. This is a great chance to showcase your favourite lesser known spots to help encourage responsible travel and dispersion around the province!
  • Please make sure the content you submit does not feature any recognizable people, including family members and friends unless you have obtained a Consent and Release form. This includes faces, profiles, or any other recognizable characteristics. If someone could recognize themselves in your content, and they have not signed the form above, we cannot accept the content.
  • DBC reserves the right to not compensate and/or reimburse expenses for Stories that do not fall under this theme or do not meet the guidelines above.
